Payyambalam beach - 1Km


A clean, lengthy beach with sun bathing and swimming facilities. There is an aesthetically designed park in the beach premises, which provides place for children to play and an open stage from where cultural programs are held periodically.





Fort St. Angelo -1Km

A Portuguese fort built in 1505 AD by the Viceroy Don Francise De Almeda. This was later occupied by the Dutch and English, this historical monument is being maintained by the archeological survey of India. From this fort there is a good view of the Mappila bay.




Arakkal Palace - 2Km

This palace was once occupied by the kings of Arakkal family and now it is totally renovated by the tourism department and is a must see spot while at Kannur. The famous Chirakkal Kovilakam is another attraction in Kannur. The Pond at Chirakkal known as "Chirakkal Chira" is the largest of its kind in Kerala and its extent is said to be around acres.



Muzhappilangad beach - 10Km

This 4 kilometer long drive in beach is probably the first of its kind in this country. This is from where the tourism department conducts adventure sports like Paragliding, Parachute Jumping etc.





Vaithal mala - 60Km

Developed as a tourist spot is ideal for trekking & Paragliding.







Gundert Bungalow - 23Km

Gundert Bungalow was occupied by German Missionary, Scholar and Lexicographer Dr. Herman Gundert who compiled the first Malayalam dictionary






Telicherry Fort - 24Km

The Telicherry fort was built by the British in the year 1708 and was an important military center.
